Unable to drive due to his injuries, Mike took up biking and noticed many children riding without helmets. Since 1999, he has distributed over 22,000 helmets, funded through donations, grants, and even personal loans. Despite financial challenges, Mike continues his mission to prevent others from experiencing the trauma of brain injuries, regularly visiting bike rodeos and schools to fit children with helmets.
