In Everett, Massachusetts, two former Everett High School students, Mikey Sainristil and Isaiah Likely, are not only celebrated for their NFL achievements but also for their dedication to giving back to the community. The fourth annual Everett Legends football camp, a free event spanning two days, brings together children from kindergarten through eighth grade. With assistance from their former high school coaches and even current NFL teammates, these athletes organize an experience cherished by the entire community. Their efforts have created lasting memories for young participants and inspired them to pursue their dreams.

A Celebration of Football and Community Spirit

In the vibrant town of Everett, Massachusetts, during a season filled with youthful energy and aspirations, two remarkable individuals bring hope and inspiration to local children. Mikey Sainristil, currently playing for the Washington Commanders, and Isaiah Likely, representing the Baltimore Ravens, co-founded the Everett Legends football camp four years ago. This year's edition once again welcomed kids ranging from kindergarten to eighth grade, offering them guidance and encouragement on the field.

For months, Sainristil and Likely meticulously planned this event alongside their former high school mentors and some fellow NFL players. Head coach Robert DiLoreto of Everett football noted how eagerly the children anticipated the camp, speaking fondly of its positive influence extending into the upcoming football season. Both athletes emphasize that the camp serves as a chance to become the role models they themselves longed for during their formative years.

Isaiah Likely expressed heartfelt sentiments about the joy derived from interacting with the children, believing these moments will remain etched in their memories forever. Similarly, Mikey Sainristil recounted his own childhood dream of attending such events led by admired figures, motivating him to extend similar opportunities to today’s youth.

Through their commitment and passion, Sainristil and Likely exemplify what it means to be true leaders both on and off the field.

This story highlights the profound impact one can have by investing time and resources into nurturing future generations. It underscores the importance of mentorship and creating environments where young minds feel supported and encouraged. As we witness Sainristil and Likely's unwavering dedication, we are reminded that success is not solely measured by accolades but also by the lives positively touched along the journey. Their actions serve as a powerful reminder that every individual has the potential to inspire and uplift others within their communities.

The Otten family, after losing their son Brayden while awaiting a heart transplant, founded the Brave Like Me Foundation to bring joy to hospitalized children. Inspired by Brayden's bond with his dog, Dugan, the foundation facilitates reunions between children and their pets. Having spent 86 days in the hospital, Brayden cherished his time with Dugan, a moment described as pure love and hope. The foundation recently opened a dog park in Wyoming, Ohio, and launched a mobile pet reunification trailer to visit hospitals nationwide. With only two out of 200 children’s hospitals offering such spaces, the foundation aims to create colorful, comforting environments for these reunions, continuing Brayden’s legacy of hope and love.
