Longines has unveiled a thoroughly reimagined HydroConquest 300m Diver collection for 2026, marking a significant evolution for the brand's popular contemporary dive watch. This new generation streamlines the collection, adopting the sleeker design language first seen in the 2023 HydroConquest GMT models. With enhanced ergonomics, updated aesthetics, and a robust automatic movement, the new HydroConquest aims to offer a modern, daily-wearable timepiece that maintains its strong diving capabilities.
The HydroConquest series, originally launched in 2007, has long been celebrated as Longines' modern 300m dive watch, complementing the vintage-inspired Legend Diver. While the 2018 iteration introduced ceramic bezels and fresh colors, the 2023 HydroConquest GMT collection signaled a notable shift in design. This new 2026 release brings the core 300m diver line into harmony with that contemporary aesthetic, offering a unified design across the HydroConquest family. The previous 39mm, 41mm, and 43mm sizes are now consolidated into 39mm and 42mm options, ensuring consistency in specifications and color choices.
The case design has undergone a comprehensive transformation, embracing a more modern and curved profile that contributes to a more compact feel on the wrist. Crafted from brushed stainless steel, both the 39mm and 42mm versions share a slightly reduced thickness of 11.7mm, making them approximately 0.5mm thinner than their predecessors. The lug-to-lug dimensions are 48.10mm for the 39mm model and 51.20mm for the 42mm model. Protecting the dial is an anti-reflective sapphire crystal, while the redesigned ceramic bezel integrates mechanics inspired by the Ultra-Chron Diver for a more satisfying tactile experience. Essential dive watch features like a screw-in crown with guards and a screw-down caseback, mirroring the GMT models, ensure a reliable water resistance of 300 meters.
The dial also showcases a clear evolution. While the handset retains its recognizable diamond-shaped hour hand and lollipop seconds hand, the hour markers are entirely new. Gone are the prominent 12, 6, and 9 applied numerals, replaced by a more refined combination of rectangular, triangular, and round applied markers, aligning with the GMT versions. This change lends the new HydroConquest a more contemporary and streamlined appearance, even if it subtly alters its distinct personality.
The collection offers a total of 12 references, comprising six distinct styles available in both 39mm and 42mm case sizes. These variations combine four different dial options with five ceramic bezel colors. For instance, customers can choose classic black, navy blue, or dark green dials with matching ceramic bezels, paired with an H-style steel bracelet. Additionally, options include a black dial with a slate grey or luminous blue ceramic bezel, or a frosted blue sunray-brushed dial with a black ceramic bezel, all offered with a new Milanese bracelet.
Powering these new timepieces is the latest iteration of Longines' exclusive L888 automatic movement, the Calibre L888.5, produced by ETA. Based on the robust ETA 2892, this movement has been optimized with a reduced frequency of 3.5Hz and an extended power reserve of 72 hours. Furthermore, it incorporates a silicon balance-spring, significantly enhancing its resistance to magnetic fields to a level 10 times greater than the ISO 764 standard, or approximately 600 gauss.
Completing the aesthetic and functional updates are the bracelet options. Three models are presented on a familiar H-shaped steel bracelet, shared with the GMT version, featuring classic links and a sophisticated look. The other three models introduce a new Milanese mesh bracelet, characterized by straight end-links, a fully brushed finish with polished sides, and a tapering effect towards the clasp. Both bracelet types are equipped with a double-folding safety clasp that includes a convenient micro-adjustment system, ensuring a comfortable and secure fit for diverse wrist sizes.
The 2026 Longines HydroConquest 300m Diver collection is now available as a permanent offering, with prices set identically for both 39mm and 42mm versions. Models with the H-link bracelet are priced at CHF 1,850, while those featuring the new Milanese bracelet are priced at CHF 1,950.
